The uneasiness and anxiety many South Africans as well as people from all over the world are feeling recently, has stemmed from the state of warfare between Russia and Ukraine.
Not being able to know what the rest of the day holds for you, the uncertainty, is truly unnerving. Carol Ofori got in touch with the Head of Public Diplomacy, Mr. Clayson Monyela, to touch base and get an update about South Africans that are still in Ukraine.
Our government is of course concerned about the ongoing tensions at the border of Ukraine and Russia.
"South Africa urges all parties to devote increased efforts to diplomacy and to find a solution that will help de-escalate tensions and avert armed conflict." (DIRCO website)
Just a week ago, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, said: “All parties have much to gain from a negotiated outcome and much to lose from unnecessary and violent conflict.” (DIRCO website)
