Birthdays are reminders to celebrate our existence. It is a time to reflect on our age, our growth, and all that we have to be grateful for.
But it is also a reminder as to how old we are getting.
One woman, however, is teaching us that it is not about the age you are turning but rather all that you have to be happy about.
On 2 November 2022, Mary Flip turned 101-years old.
"Flip lived through the Great Depression, multiple wars, had six kids and still maintains her wit and sense of humour. Mary Flip, born in 1921, spent her childhood living in Illinois. Her sister and mother died early in her life, and she was the only survivor of her family at age 15." (Alaska News Source)
We love how when asked about her secret to leading a happy life, she pondered and then gave a tangy answer: "Tequila."
Her spunky wit and charm are certainly things we could all aspire toward as we get older.
