Just recently I was talking about how people automatically judge someone the moment they open their mouth.
We base people’s intelligence on their grasp of English and whether or not there is a “twang”. The problem is, I know a lot of people that have a certain English “twang” when they speak and I know a few people who have a strong native accent, but they’re incredibly successful and intelligent.
Why do we do this? It boggles my mind but I must be honest, even I fall prey to this sometimes.
