The power packed line-up saw four of South Africa’s business leaders as keynote speakers who shared their knowledgeable experiences in their respective fields.

Silence resounded the ballroom in anticipation when, world renown business leader, youngest JSE Director and known as the Rockstar of public speaking, Vusi Thembekwayo retreated from his presentation to speak from his heart. He delved into effective steps into finding the sweet spot to a balanced life while ‘Taking Charge’ in both the business environment and your personal life.

“If you want to build anything worth building, you’re going to have to embrace the darkness. Embrace being alone. If you’re not comfortable working beyond your hours you’re going to battle trying to build something worth building. If the process was easy, the things we achieve probably won’t be worth celebrating. Remember what’s important to you and don’t forget to have fun,” said Thembekwayo.

Thembekwayo concluded by sharing his experience of meeting the late great, Tata Madiba that brought the room to their feet in a standing ovation.

Dave Duarte; social media marketer, educator and entrepreneur captivated the audience with his vibrance and practical experiments about the importance of networking and how social media can be your most powerful tool when networking.

“Opportunities are not found just floating in the clouds, they are found in people. Use your social media to offer something to people. Hang out in the same places of aspirational people this can also mean share the same social media interactions,” said Duarte.

Khaya Dlanga enunciated the importance of effective and vigorous marketing and reiterated the significance of moving forward and eliminating a laid-back approach, especially in an industry where time and money waits for no one.

“To set yourself apart, you have to try the things that scare you. We all have an idea of what the world might be like in the future. If you don’t like it then change it, don’t be afraid to disrupt your business model to change the future,” said Dlanga.

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal were the sponsors for the event where CEO, Neville Matjie expressed his delight to be associated with an event of this calibre.

“The organisation is pleased to be a part of the 2019 edition of the East Coast Radio GIBS Business Breakfast. It’s the sixth year that Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal has partnered with East Coast Radio and GIBS on this noteworthy initiative.
