East Coast Radio presenters broadcast from across KZN for Toy Story
Updated | By East Coast Radio
From the south coast up to the north coast and in between; the people of KZN have been encouraged to donate towards East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Toys R Us and Babies R Us.

Our very own Damon Beard, Jane Linley-Thomas and Bongani and Mags broadcast their shows live from malls across the province on Friday to rally around this year’s Toy Story campaign.
The people of Shelley Beach and surrounds donated toys at the Toys R Us and Babies R Us at South Coast Mall, while rubbing shoulders with Damon Beard. The next live broadcast was held out of Richard’s Bay’s Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre for Jane Linley-Thomas’ show with the warm people of Richard’s Bay coming out in support.
East Coast Drive’s Bongani and Mags wrapped up the excitement for the day from the Toys R Us and Babies R Us at Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg. Bongani said, “I have two young sons and they are fortunate enough to have lots of toys. They have also had the opportunity of unboxing many brand-new toys and the look on their faces when they do is priceless. I urge you to come and donate even just one toy from Toys R Us or Babies R Us and give an underprivileged child that opportunity too. Your small gesture can change a child’s world.”
Mags added, “I love giving and seeing the smiles when our family opens gifts, so to know that a complete stranger will be experiencing the same joy on the same day is honestly a joy in itself! That’s what Toy Story means to us as a family.”
If you didn’t get to attend the live broadcasts you can still donate toys at any Toys R Us and Babies R Us in the province or make cash donations. All toy donations will be distributed to children at government hospitals, children’s homes and orphanages across KwaZulu-Natal. While all monies donated will have a lasting impact and be directed to address the needs of the four identified schools in need.
