Cassper Nyovest opens up #LiveWithECRDrive
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Massively popular South African musician Cassper Nyovest has told KZN that they can expect a number of Durban-based artists and friends of his like Babes Wodumo on stage with him at #FillUpMosesMabhida in December. This emerged during his in studio interview with East Coast Drive’s Bongani and Mags on Thursday, 1st November.
Cassper Nyovest will attempt to fill up the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on December the 1st. The concert will be the first to be held outside of Gauteng after Cassper’s #FillUpTheDome, #FillUpFNBStadium, and #FillUpOrlandoStadium.
While on East Coast Drive, the star also opened up to Bongani and Mags about the loss of HHP. Cassper paid tribute to HHP saying he was not just a friend, but more of a big brother. He added, “I go through so many emotions through the day, I am still numb. It still feels like a dream because it was so sudden. I have so many questions. You know, I sit in bed thinking maybe if I had called him that day things would be different. Man, I miss HHP.”
Cassper also addressed accusations of being ‘fake humble’. He said, “The fact that I still have the same people that I used to have before my fame (around me) and they still think I am the same person, I’m good.”
Meanwhile, later on in the show, Mags caught up with another music legend, Yvonne Chaka Chaka. After 33 years of music, Yvonne is still celebrated and seen as a current musician. Something she admitted was not easy, “Having staying power isn’t easy; you have to know who you are, be true to yourself, be true to your art. For me it has just been constantly reinventing myself, wanting to do different things with different people.”
East Coast Radio will feature four videos from the interview with Yvonne Chaka Chaka on social media over the next few days. These touch on topics from the loss of HHP to how she met the famous doctor that ended up being her husband.
