What we all can learn from Caitlyn Jenner
Updated | By Sihle Mthembu
Caitlyn Jenner (formly known as Bruce Jenner) has graced the cover of Vanity Fair. She is also the first transgendered human being to appear on the cover of the mag.
I have been following season 10 of #KUWTK and About Bruce and I must say I really commend Caitlyn for accepting her truth.
As much as it’s easy to hurl insults at the Kardashian/Jenner clan, we have to realise that Caitlyn is one of thousands of people struggling to accept their truths on a day to day basis. It took her 65 years but eventually she did it.
There are millions of us who struggle to find inner peace because we refuse to accept our different truths. We are all imperfect and we are all on a quest for happiness. You might not accept Caitlyn’s decision to become female, but you sure as hell should commend the bravery she has displayed.
The online bullies have been thumb happy and creating memes using North West, Penelope Disck and the rest of the children and being really mean. And in my opinion, the this part of the reason people struggle daily to accept their truth. They fear being bullied, and fear not being accepted.
Go on with your bad self, Ms Caitlyn! You go girl! I’d much rather have my daughter look up to someone who teaches lessons of being comfortable with who you are as opposed to someone who preaches righteousness and is living in the dark and is fighting to accept who they are.
Members of Caitlyn took to social media yesterday to express support for her debut Vanity Fair cover.
