VIDEO: Man smashes beer-carrying record!
Updated | By Rory Petzer
German waiter, Oliver Struempfel carried 27 full one-litre beer mugs a distance of 40 metres on Sunday, beating the world record.
Struempfel transported the full traditional German mugs with no help of a tray.
Struempfel has worked at the Gillemoos beer festival in the Bavarian town of Abensberg for 17 years.
He said he needed to train at gym for a few months to build up enough strength for the challenge.
With each mug weighing around 2kg, if you do the maths, that's a total weight of approximately 54kg!
If you take into account the precision and balance that's also required, it is a pretty impressive, and useful party trick!
Do you have a party trick that comes out at every braai or get-together? What is it?
