Up close with Jane

Jane is a born entertainer. Her energy and enthusiasm for being on-air makes for exhilarating listening.
Jane has a passion for all things local, and now this new mom has found another thing to be passionate about…her children.
For Jane, some of her earliest memories as a child involved dress up clothes, wigs and sitting on the side lines watching her late grandmother perform in one of the many local talent shows. No parent’s dinner party was complete without a show from Jane as a child decked out in her mom’s clothing. About her ad hoc performances she quips, “To say that my love for theatre and entertainment has been in my blood forever is an understatement.”
Jane went to Durban Girls College from Class One to Grade 7 and took part in all the school plays and even scored the role as Winnie the Pooh - with a singing part! In 2000 Jane set-off for the Mother City and attended The Waterfront Theatre School as she fancied the idea of becoming a drama teacher for little folk.
She reminisces, “In 2001 I arrived outside the Musica in-store studio in Woodstock with nothing more then passion in my heart and they very kindly agreed to take me on as an observer. Within in a few weeks she was interviewing every SA band under the sun and soaking it all up.”
Jane joined East Coast Radio in 2004 and has over the years done various shows – Weekday breakfast, 9pm-12pm; and most recently In The Limelight between 18h00 and 21h00 Monday-Friday for last three years. Now she brings fabulous fun and energy to The Weekend Breakfast Show.
