Meet Hanshi John Taylor – one of the most renowned and respected masters of karate.
Hanshi John Taylor 9th Dan is the highest graded karate instructor in Australia and an icon in the Kyokushin Kaikan karate martial arts world.
He is the Vice President of the International Karate Organisation (I.K.O.) Matsushima in charge of all areas outside Japan.
The Australian arrived in Mzansi yesterday to pay his respects to the former President of the I.K.O. Matsushima Suth Africa, Shihan Alpheus Sabela, who sadly passed away recently.
He will spend the whole weekend in KwaZulu-Natal in a bid to boost karate in the Rainbow Nation.
The 71-year-old Taylor visited Makhosi Khoza’s show accompanied by the current head of the I.K.O. Matsushima South Africa, Shihan Khanyisani Mazibuko and Sensei Clive Noconjo.
Shihan Mazibuko talked to Makhosi about the All Africa Kyokushin Karate tournament which takes place at Gamalakhe on the KZN south coast this weekend.
During the interview, Hanshi Taylor revealed that he can beat Chuck Norris in a fight!
