Spar Women's Race: Road Closures!

Race day on Sunday, the following roads will be closed for the 24th running of the SPAR Women’s 10/5km race.
The area around the Sahara Stadium Kingsmead and the beach front will be filled with the colourful field of runners making their way around the SPAR route. The following roads will be closed:
Road Closure details:
02:00 – 10:00 – Sylvester Ntuli between KE Masinga and Sandile Thusi (Argyle)
02:00 – 10:00 – Somtseu Road between Stalwart Simelane and Playfair Road
02:00 – 11:00 – Snell Parade will be closed from Athlone Drive to Battery Beach Road
06:00 – 10:00 – Sandile Thusi between Sylvester Ntuli and Snell Parade
06:00 – 11:00 – Athlone Drive (West Bound) between Snell Parade and Masabalala Yengwa
Avenue
06:00 – 11:00 – Battery Beach Road from Suncoast Main Entrance to Masabalala Yengwa Avenue
06:00 – 12:00 – Masabalala Yengwa Avenue (South Bound) between Athlone Drive and KE Masinga
Road
06:00 – 12:00 – 2 left lanes of KE Masinga Road outside Sahara Stadium
06:00 – 12:00 – Somtseu Road intersection with Masabalala Yengwa Avenue
02:00 – 14:00 – The Sahara Stadium Precinct
Where to park:
• Centrum Parking (opposite the Durban Exhibition Centre) (open) – recommended access via Dr AB
Xuma Street into Samora Machel Street.
• SunCoast Casino & Entertainment Kingdom recommended access (between 06:00 and 09:30)
from Sandile Thusi (Argyle Road) then left into Sylvester Ntuli (Brickhill Road extension) at the old
Natal Command site and left into Battery Beach Road which will take you to the Suncoast main
parking entrance.
• The International Convention Centre (ICC) (undercover) – recommended access from the
coast towards the ICC on Bram Fischer Road.
• The Workshop (undercover and open) – recommended access from Dr AB Xuma Street into
Samora Machel Street.
NOTE – Each of these parking areas has their own fee structure and are not contracted to the event.
• Free parking along the beachfront
