The Pulane nude photos leak scandal

This week, social media has been abuzz after nude pictures of a young woman by the name of Pulane Lenkoe were leaked. Zaba weighs in on the violation of her privacy.

The story is that apparently the 31-year-old's ex-boyfriend leaked the pictures on Twitter in an attempt to embarrass her. (She's currently dating Orlando Pirates soccer star, Thandani Ntshumayelo).

A fake Twitter account was also set up under her name.

Pulane went from 400 followers to 30 000 followers in a few days. She can now also include among her followers celebs  such as Trevor Noah, Cassper Nyovest and DJ Black Coffee (who was apparently forced to unfollow her after a Twitter user alerted his pregnant wife…but that’s another story)

Pulane told Times Live that she wants the whole situation to disappear and that she doesn't want any of the attention. She also stated that she doesn't want people looking at her as if she's some whore.

“I’m literally shaking right now. I don’t want all of this attention. Good Friday [is approaching], my goodness. I’m going to church. I don’t want people looking at me like I’m some whore,” thejuice.co.za quoted her as saying.

The Pulane situation has been trending for a few days now and this poor woman is not happy about the fact that someone she trusted violated her privacy.

To quote a Twitter user: "She is being sexually harassed and paraded against her will for the world to see", and the sad bit is that we're finding joy in sharing this girl's naked pictures.

I guess it would be a different situation if she had chosen to post her naked pictures herself, but she didn't. She just had a bitter ex-boyfriend who thought that humiliation would be the best form of revenge.

We've all taken part in this woman's public humiliation and we should be ashamed.

It doesn't matter how hot she is.

And don't hide behind the "That's what you get for taking nudes" argument. This poor girl is probably being called all types of derogatory terms all over South Africa for something she didn't ask for.

This just goes to show that "the female body is an object that belongs to everyone but the woman herself”.

I want to know: Have you ever sent your nude pictures to a lover? Have they shared them against your will? What action did you take?
