PHOTOS: Natarah Nadesan's Wedding

I remember the morning of August 9 2012 as if it were yesterday. I woke up at 5am with a heart rate slightly faster than normal.
I wasn’t nervous about putting a ring on the finger of the love of my life; I was worried about the weather!
As a bride, you pour everything into making your big day perfect, like how you’d always imagined it should be. The weather that week was miserable. It had been raining and was bitterly cold.
I had to deal with a few hiccups the night before and on the morning of my wedding - so my nerves were already starting to unravel. By 7am that morning though, the sun had taken its place in the sky and set the tone for the most amazing day of my life.

Getting ready was wonderful. I had the best team of helpers from my make-up artist to my hair stylist.
There was music, peanut butter toast and rooibos tea. I was surprisingly very calm for those two hours, sitting patiently as my hair was gracefully swept into a Sarah Jessica Parker knotted-bun and my skin moisturised, followed by layers of browns, pinks and blues.

My mum and aunt helped me get into my one-shoulder gown, a Cinderella-style white dress that to me looked like the most delicious, mega cream puff I have ever seen! My floor-length veil was my favourite accessory. I felt like a princess!
The shoes had to be yellow, my favourite colour. They were the ones ballroom dancers use so they were very comfortable until I was ready to take them off.

Just before I entered the church with my dad and retinue, my maid-of-honour gave me some advice to help keep the eager tears from running down my cheeks. I took a deep breath and off I floated down the aisle, to marry my gorgeous man!
