Natarah’s FITballers: Spain vs Chile
Updated | By tanstan fourie
There are three great games to look forward to tonight. What’s really going to send our minds into a tizzy is the muscular strength of the football plays. Technically speaking, of course.
Spain – David Villa
The 32-year-old striker has played for Valencia, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in an illustrious career spanning more than two decades. Villa credits his father for helping him make it in professional football.
When he was four-years-old, he fractured his femur in his right leg. He says his dad helped him make a full recovery, working with his son daily to strengthen his legs. Villa, ultimately became ambidextrous.
The father of three has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Patricia González since 2003. One of his children is named after the wife of Fernando Torres, who is Patricia’s good friend.
Chile - Johnny Herrera
The 33-year-old is his national squad’s goalkeeper. In March this year, Herrera scored his first ever goal in professional football. He was playing in the group stage at the Copa Libertadores against Peruvian club Real Garcilaso at the time.
He weighs 81kgs and stands 1.84m tall. Johnny shares a birthday with singers Billy Joel and Tamia.
His surname is of Spanish origin meaning "iron mine" or "iron works.”
