Leech stuck in a woman’s nose
Updated | By tanstan fourie
A Scottish woman says she didn’t feel a thing when a leech, that’d been living in her nose for a month, was surgically removed last week.
The 7cm bloodsucker may’ve crept into her right nostril during her trip to Vietnam recently.
When the leech popped out of her nose she’d sniff him back up, thinking he was a blood clot!
Daniela Liverani said she discovered ‘Mr Curly’ – as Liverani nicknamed the leech – when she jumped out a shower, went to the mirror and had a proper good look and could see little ridges on him.
Doctors managed to remove Mr Curly and sent him home with her
However Mr Curly did not live to see another day!
"He's in an Edinburgh City Council bin," said Ms Liverani. "He's probably long gone by now. I boiled him first."
Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever discovered anything strange living inside your body without realizing?
