Fixing the wrongs of a devastating theft
Updated | By Jason
Sometimes such horrible things can happen to such good people. This week the Big Favour takes on the plight of a church in the Greyville area which was targeted by criminals.
When I read this my heart went out to the many people who have been affected by such senseless crime where the repercussions are far worse than a simple "theft" of a few goods.

"Today I need to ask you a big favour. I go to a local church that is very involved in the Community. On a Thursday they have a Soup Kitchen for the homeless. They feed sometimes from 50 to 80 people on any given Thursday morning. Last week our Ministers went on a well-deserved holiday. While they were on holiday, their house and our church was broken into. They have had a lot of things stolen, from their pots and pans, to all the food in their own cupboards, and most of the meat that was in their deepfreeze. Also most of the meat in the church deepfreeze, which they use to feed the kids that attend the Homework Centre and other poor families.
They even stole all of our Minister’s jewellery that she inherited from both her Mom and her Grandmother. Unfortunately that isn’t replaceable.
Can you help?"
The Big Favour got hold of Andrew Mills, Director of Marketing at BOXER Superstores who quickly and amazingly offered to help out.
Take a listen to the Big Favour below :
A massive thanks to Andrew at BOXER (www.boxer.co.za) and Esme for her amazing Big Favour cakes.
