The Big Favour helps kids with their homework
Updated | By Rory Petzer
Heather Hamilton wrote in to the Big Favour asking for help with a non-profit homework centre in Verulam.
The centre was opened by Pastor Vasie Dalais in February this year when two children showed up.
There are currently around 135 children on the register, most of which arrive hungry, and most of which do not go home to places where there is academic or emotional support.
Pastor Vasie acts as tutor, mentor and provider for many of these children.
Heather wrote in telling us the centre was in desperate need of tables, chairs, stationery and the like as there simpyl was not enough space for all the children.
No stranger to the Big Favour, Raymond from Waltons in Glenwood has kindly come to the rescue.
Raymond has donated 50 chairs, five steel, folding tables each accommodating approximately 10 children, as well as a mobile white board.
Raymond's gift to the homework centre is worth around R16 000.
Raymond, you sir, are a hero.
