Armed robbery at petrol station caught on camera
Updated | By Staff Writer
The clip, which is dated 17 January, 11:05am, shows a VW pulling up at a petrol pump at an Engen Garage on Gauteng’s East Rand.
Two men get out of the vehicle, and walk over to another VW, which is parked on the other side of the petrol pump from their vehicle. In broad daylight, one of the men points a gun at the driver, and reaches inside the car while his accomplice opens the boot.
They take what appears to be two backpacks out of the car, and then drive away.
While this is happening, it seems to be business as usual at the service station - with other cars pulling up and petrol attendants walking around.
Once the men have driven off, the two victims get out of their car.
It's been reported that they had been to a bank at a nearby mall and the men might have followed them.
I have never been in the predicament where I have had to witness someone else being victim to a crime, but I'm shocked that the petrol attendants just carried on like nothing was wrong.
I feel as though they could have taken down the license plate number, called the police - or something.
What would you do if you saw this happen?
