Yacht race survives Durban storm
Five Flying Fifteens set off with Carl Zimmerman and Mongezi Mfeka jostling for position on the line while experienced campaigner Jeremy Kriek, let the drama unfold in front of him and quietly got on with his sailing.
Kriek and Tjaart Kat sailed consistently and the duo led for the entire race, finishing ahead of Myles White and Estelle Buys. Mfeka sailing with Andile Zulu finished third.
In the Laser class, four sailors took part with Henry Franken reading the conditions well to lead the smaller boats. Behind him was Campbell Alexander.
On Sunday five yachts raced in the confines of the bay with Sticky Fingers helmed by the Rear Commodore Rob Samways winning and Gavin Wadsworth sailing on Therapy finished second.
The next sailing for the club is today for the Kriek and Sons sponsored Twilight Series and on Saturday for the penultimate of the Royal Natal Yacht Club Dinghy Series for this year.

Its going to be a warm day in Durban with a high of 29 degrees, once again we have NE winds blowing up to 37km/hr; clear skies are expected this morning otherwise it will be partly cloudy this evening.
