White shocks Brumbies with resignation
Updated | By Staff Writer
Former Springbok rugby coach, Jake White, has shocked Australian rugby circles, by quitting as coach of the Brumbies Super 15 team.
Although rugby pundits are still speculating where the 2007 Rugby World Cup winning coach will find new employment, The Mercury reported that a move to the Sharks could be a possibility.
Sharks chief executive, John Smit, told the paper that he was surprised that White had quit, but declined to comment on whether he could move to the KZN rugby team.
"I can't comment on Jake leaving the Brumbies because I don't have all the details yet; all I can say is that we have a definite plan with the Sharks," he is quoted in The Mercury.
He added that they would welcome the opportunity to speak to White should the opportunity arise.
