Westville teen wins SA title, set for World Long Drive Championships

A Westville teen, who is heading to the States to compete in the World Long Drive Championships, says it's something he hopes to pursue long-term.
19-year-old, Kyle Darly Waddilove won Quantum League's South African leg of the specialised golfing sport in Johannesburg at the weekend.
"I was completely ecstatic. At first, I had no words and was completely shocked. They'd never seen me before and I'd only done one competition prior to this. I was ecstatic eventually after I managed to settle down and believe that it wasn't a dream," he says.
Although playing competitively for just two months, the first-year Stellenbosch student beat seven finalists nationally. Darly Waddilove says he hopes to bring the world title home.
"I expect a challenge - a very big challenge because I'm coming up against the world's best. I'm excited, thrilled and keen to go. Long driving is a growing sport in South Africa. Hopefully, I can take it and make long drive a bigger sport."
