VIDEO: Where you catch a permit
Updated | By Staff Writer

A permit is a fish found in parts of the Atlantic Ocean.
Permit can weigh up to 36 kilograms.
They tend to feed on crabs, shrimps and small fish.
Permit remind me a lot of the pompano we catch here in KwaZulu-Natal.
Sea lice is a pretty effective bait when targeting pompano.
I have seen big pompano up at St Lucia on the KZN north coast.
They can also be caught along the Durban beachfront.
However, our footage today features permit fishing off Florida in the USA.
