VIDEO: Superb cobia and bonito fishing
Updated | By Andre Bloem
I caught a 4kg bonito during Quattro King of the Sea last May.
It gave me a very good fight and made up for the two tuna I had eaten by sharks that day off Shelley Beach.
It was my first bonito and certainly one to remember.
I have never managed to catch a cobia - we also call them prodigal son here in South Africa.
I once saw a big one of around 18kg caught off North Pier in Durban many moons ago.
Today we see an angler who catches both bonito and cobia on the same day.
You may recall the awesome 9kg Natal snoek I boated off Umhlanga back in January this year.
I hope to be out on the ocean again soon and maybe this time I will be lucky enough to catch a couta.
I have tried many times to catch couta, but am still to break my duck on the couta front.
