VIDEO: Sawfish takes the bait
Some species of sawfish can reach up to 7 metres in length.
These fish are also known as carpenter sharks.
However, they are considered rays and not sharks.
Sawfishes and sawsharks are not the same, but they certainly have a similar appearance.
All sawfish species are listed as either endangered or critically endangered.
Commercial fishing for sawfish has been banned globally since 2007.
Some sawfish can weigh over 2 000 kilograms and they can live up to about 50 years.
