VIDEO: Knysna garrick fishing
Updated | By Staff Writer
I remember fishing with an old man who had spent his teens in Knysna.
He shared many tales of the monster daga salmon he caught on a handline in the lagoon.
The old man is no longer with us, but the lagoon remains and reports suggest that it remains an excellent place to fish.
The closest I have come to this type of angling was in the St Lucia estuary back in the 1980s and 1990s.
That was before the mouth to the ocean closed up.
We caught a huge variety of fish in the estuary.
The list included grunter, kob, springer, perch and queenfish.
However, let me share some stunning footage of Knysna lagoon garrick fishing with you today.
I wonder if the Freespool boys have tried this spot before and if they have a spot open if they should do so soon...
