VIDEO: Fishing for your supper

These tend to put up quite a fight, but are not necessarily awesome on the dinner table.

Dorado are a favourite of mine as they tend to tick both boxes.

I have also been told that wahoo and prodigal son are great for both fighting and eating.

I have certainly seen them fight, but have never eaten either wahoo or prodigal son.

Shad and grunter are fish I have both eaten and enjoyed catching.

They also tend to both fight and eat well.

My experience suggests that the best bet for good eating is bottom dwellers like soldier, rockcod and snapper.

In our footage today we see Captain Blair Wiggins exchanging the spectacular for the dependable.

He is out fishing with the dinner table very much in mind.
