VIDEO: Durban silt canal fishing
Updated | By Staff Writer
It has been a long while since I last fished in the silt canal that forms part of Durban harbour.

I remember catching some really nice mullet and seeing others taking a beating from the milkfish also found in this area.
I never managed to hook a milky and was probably fortunate not too.
I suspect my tackle at the time would not have survived a tussle with this species.
I also recall landing small grunter and perch in the silt canal.
Our footage today shows anglers catching fish I never saw in the area.
I suspect that I must have lacked the necessary bait or lures.
