VIDEO: Durban harbour Walla-Walla
Updated | By Staff Writer

I also recall catching these long, silver fish off north pier back in the day.
I tended to hook them while throwing drift bait for shoal kob, but did not use a glow stick.
I possibly would have caught even more with a bit of illumination.
However, the target was kob and not walla-walla.
The footage below shows anglers specifically targeting walla-walla.
These fish are caught mostly at night and Durban harbour is a very popular spot for them.
Alain Tardin and I have a few walla-walla on ice at the moment.
We are saving them for the Durban Ski Boat Festival next month.
This competition has a R350 000 boat as prize for the biggest couta caught.
