VIDEO: Durban harbour fishing
Updated | By Staff Writer
I have seen grunter, shad, kingfish, Natal snoek, garrick, springer, walla-walla, pike, snapper salmon and several other species caught in the bay.
I also remember catching queenfish on live pinky and hooking both mullet and milkfish on what we called slime - a sticky type of algae.
I have shared several harbour fishing videos with you on this page and will continue to look for more.
Alain Tardin and I spotted some lovely kingfish at the marina near the yacht club earlier this year.
I also showed you a picture of a large Natal snoek caught on cracker shrimp in the harbour.
Today we have a look at a fine collection of Durban harbour fishing trips.
Grunter naturally dominate, but you will also see garrick being landed. They may well enter the harbour this weekend, given the recent drop in temperatures. Live mullet is perhaps your best bet for catching garrick in the bay.
