VIDEO: Bluff king mackerel fishing
KwaZulu-Natal anglers certainly appreciate the king mackerel for the fight it can muster.
Couta are aggressive hunters with loads of speed, power and teeth to do their job.
These fish are often caught on live bait like mullet and shad.
I have also seen them caught on walla-walla.
Couta will be top of the menu at the Durban Ski Boat Festival in April.
The heaviest couta will win the boat up for grabs.
Sportswave is planning to join the boat hunt.
Alain Tardin, Mak Dlamini and I are all poised to enter the Durban Ski Boat Festival this year.
