VIDEO: Awesome permit fishing

These fish are powerful fighters and are often caught on sea lice.

I have seen several landed along the Durban beachfront and remember well the pompano success enjoyed by a fishing buddy at First Rocks just north of St Lucia several years ago.

I will not be targeting pompano when jetski fishing this weekend, but may just change my plans if the wind curtails the Durban Ski Boat Club Jetski Bonanza action.

I suspect Addington Beach could be a good spot to try, should the weather keep me off the ocean.

However, right now the plan is to target dorado and tuna in the deeper water.

I started out talking pompano, because of some awesome permit fishing footage I have found.

Permit remind me a lot of pompano, but tend to grow bigger than the fish we catch here in KZN.

We go to Florida in the USA and join Captain Blair Wiggins in pursuit of permit.
