VIDEO: Andre and an ugly fish
The pair launched at Durban Ski Boat Club at around 04h30 and came across a large shark just after clearing the tip of north pier.
They later also spotted a turtle, dolphins and a yellowfin tuna.
However, Andre and Alain failed in their quest to celebrate the launch of Alain's superb new jetski with a trophy fish.
This despite catching some lovely baitfish in the form of maasbanker.
The Sportswave combo trawled their maasbanker for a couple of hours and also tried their luck with rapala lures.
In the end, they opted to do some reef fishing in the hope of hooking a late geelbek.
Andre did catch something on his maasbanker, but the flathead was hardly the shining tuna or king mackerel the team had dreamt of the night before.

The fish was released and appeared to be swimming strongly as it returned to the ocean floor.
The Sportswave team is hoping for better for Alain at the Racetech Yamaha Jetski Fishing Classic in Mozambique this week.
