Tuna too strong for Wes
Updated | By Andre Bloem
The latest Kingfisher angling update says that some nice kob are being landed down in the Transkei. Fish of up to four kilograms have mainly been caught in the white water around most of the points. A few sharks have also been landed by those targeting non-edibles.
Our very own Wes Cruickshanks lost a tuna while fishing from a kayak off Umhlanga over the past weekend.
Wes believes it weighed around 40kg.
A friend of his landed a 45kg sailfish shortly before Wes dropped his tuna.
The Breakfast Stack producer and his more fortunate buddy were both using live maasbanker as bait.
We are in for a minimum temperature of 16 and a maximum of 24 degrees with SW winds up to 37 km/hr blowing today. It will be cloudy this morning with a 30% chance of rain later this evening.
The third Dolphin Mile Surf Swim is going to be held on the 5 May and Barry Lewin is holding the first of the winter surfski series events on the same morning. Please note that the Dolphin Mile Surf Swim will be starting half an hour earlier at 7am and not 7.30am as originally advertised.
A reminder for divers to diarize 11 May - it will see the ScubaPro Day happening at DUC. More info will follow in the coming week, but all passionate divers will want to be a part of this!
