The event is a gathering of coaches, administrators and other athletics stakeholders from across the world.
One of the aims of the conference is the empowerment of the African athletics community.
It is hoped discussions and presentations will help African countries to deliver top athletics events in a financially sustainable manner.
Keynote speakers this year include Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Ato Boldon.
Joyner-Kersee claimed three Olympic gold medals and was the first woman to score more than 7 000 points in the heptathlon.
Boldon, meanwhile, claimed four Olympic medals in his impressive career.
