Team SA gears up for Day 1 of Olympic action

Team South Africa is raring to go as the Olympic Games officially open in Paris.
After a soggy but spectacular opening to the competition, South African fans can expect a full day of sporting action.
There are nine events today involving Team SA.

Swimming, badminton, surfing, skateboarding, and judo get under way along with the rugby sevens semi-finals. Team South Africa will be hoping to get on the medal table as they come up against hosts France.
If they win, they will be in the running for gold with either Fiji or Australia.
"We know under the French role they have a lot of flair, but we know if we can man up physically and dominate them physically and be in their faces, when it comes to defence they don’t like it. So, we need to fix our mistakes. If we can minimise the mistakes, it will be a good day of rugby," said interim head coach Philip Snyman.
