Sundowns have been unlucky - Bilankulu
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Sundowns will host Golden Arrows in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup tomorrow.
Sundowns enter the cup tie on the back of a lean spell in the ABSA Premiership.
Sundowns have taken just three points from their last five league outings.
Arrows defender, Musa Bilankulu, believes Sundowns are better than their recent run suggests.
"Sundowns have been unlucky in most games. They are playing well, but they can't seem to find that final goal to win the game. They pose a definite threat and we can't take them lightly. We need to focus and compete against them," Bilankulu said.
Bilankulu has also revealed that Arrows have mixed feelings about the recent Sundowns slump.
"Do we take encouragement from it? I think both yes and no. They have played a lot of games and that can be a factor in them collecting just three from 15 points. However, the game tomorrow is a new game and they will be determined to come out guns blazing to prove why they are both league and African champions," Bilankulu added.
Arrows defeated Highlands Park 2-1 in their most recent league match last weekend. Bilankulu feels they will take encouragement from that home win, but also warns that Sundowns will pose a different challenge.
"Yes it will be different, because we will be away from home and it is a cup tie and not a league game. The win over Highlands Park has boosted our confidence and that should help us to compete tomorrow against Sundowns," Bilankulu said.
Bilankulu believes Arrows have a good idea of what will be needed to win at Lucas Moripe Stadium tomorrow.
"We have a gameplan. I think if we execute the gameplan well tomorrow, we can take the game," Bilankulu concluded.
Kickoff is at 15h00.
