Sundowns finally snap up Brockie
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
Supersport United have confirmed the departure of New Zealander Jeremy Brockie to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori confirmed the departure on Twitter on Monday, ending months of speculation around Brockie's future at the club.
The New Zealander's move to Masandawana is a big blow for the club, considering he'd become the second highest goal scorer at the club. During his tenure, he helped Supersport United to two Nedbank Cup titles as well as an MTN8 title.
Club CEO Stanley Matthews bid farewell to the 30-year-old, wishing him well in the future.
“It’s never easy to lose a key player like Jeremy, especially off the back of three great seasons with us in which we made 5 Cup Finals and he became the second highest scorer at the Club," Matthews said.
"We also understand that at his age this is Jeremy’s last big move and opportunity to secure his financial future.
"Given that he has made a significant contribution to the Club on and off the field our Board have agreed to sanction his move to Mamelodi Sundowns and we wish him well in his future"
