Sunette Viljoen, Khotso Mokoena and Elroy Gelant are all scheduled for action at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow today.
Viljoen will feature in the javelin..Gelant in the five-thousand metres final and Mokoena in the final of the long jump.
Viljoen won a bronze medal at the last world championships in Daegu.
Ezekiel Kemboi stole the show last night.
The Kenyan runner claimed a record-equalling third world title in the three-thousand metres steeplechase.
Felix Sanchez, meanwhile, failed in his bid to win a record third 400-metres hurdles world championship.
Sanchez had to settle for fifth in the final.
Soccer
Zamalek say they have reported Orlando Pirates to the Confederation of African Football.
Zamalek are unhappy with the training ground provided to them ahead of the Champions League clash with Pirates tomorrow night.
Everton manager, Roberto Martinez, says the release clause in the contract of Marouane Fellaini has now expired.
Martinez believes Fellaini is not likely to leave the club in the near future.
Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder, Willian, appears much more likely to move.
Willian, a Brazil international, says he would welcome the chance to play for Liverpool.
The Reds are favourites to sign him.
Surfing
Jordy Smith has won his first round heat at the Billabong Pro Tahiti.
Durban surfer, Travis Logie, was last in the same heat at Teahupoo.
Smith is assured of a third round spot, while Logie will have to face Adrian Buchan in second round action.
Also through to the third round are Mick Fanning, Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson.
Tennis
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will clash in the Cincinnati Masters quarter-finals.
Federer had to fight hard for his 1-6 7-5 6-3 victory over Tommy Haas last night.
Haas ousted Kevin Anderson in the Cincinnati first round.
Also through to the quarter-finals are Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.
Rugby
The Sharks will host the MTN Lions in Absa Currie Cup action at Growthpoint Kings Park later today.
Elton Jantjies has been picked to start at flyhalf for the Lions.
Kickoff is at 17h05.
