Snapper on Umkomaas menu
Snapper salmon have been hanging around the Umkomaas area with large numbers being caught in the evening.
Early morning fishing sessions at Umkomaas have seen some small shad and even smaller grunter being landed.
A lot of anglers have been targeting snoek in the Pennington area with mixed success. A lot seems to depending on the weather conditions. For more info please visit www.kingfisher.co.za
We need to congratulate Durban surfer, Slade Prestwich, who was a multiple winner at the recent Billabong Junior Series in East London. Prestwich won a tough U-20 final and the award for the best aerial. Athlone Park’s Sarah Baum was the winner of the U-20 girls final. Durban surfer, Joshua Smit, surfed his way to victory in the U-18 boys division and Shane Sykes from Salt Rock took the U-16 boys title. In the U-18 girls division it was another KZN surfer, Chanelle Botha, who took the win. Botha is from Warner Beach.
We are in for another warm and beautiful day in Durban with temperatures ranging from 16–28 degrees. We have clear skies this morning turning partly cloudy later and SW winds peaking at 19 km/hr. These will swing to light easterlies later. There isn’t much swell around, but it could be a fun morning to paddle surf-skis, go for a swim or do some SUP training.
