Three Michaelhouse boys have secured national colours this month.
Luke Stevens and Kenyon Smith both made the SA under-19 squash squad, while Greg Oldfield is in the SA under-19 cricket squad.
Matt Sualez impressed on the golf course and will captain the KZN under-17 team.
Meanwhile, Zach Johnson leads the Open Championship at Muirfield.
This follows his first round 66 in Scotland yesterday. Thomas Aiken is the best of the South African golfers. Aiken carded a 71 and is five shots off the pace.
Tim Clark trails by six strokes. Clark signed for an opening 72.
Branden Grace and Ernie Els both shot rounds of 74. Els, the defending champion, is eight strokes adrift of leader Johnson.
Tiger Woods had a much better day.
Woods carded a 69 and is three shots off the pace.
The 2013 tournament is over for former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen. The South African was forced to withdraw during the first round yesterday.
