PHOTOS: Mak's Magic Moments

The past weekend was a big one for both the Proteas and the Sharks, while Soweto giants shared and Team of Choice took it all in Durban.

In my new weekly feature I let the pictures do most of the talking as I look back at some of the big sporting highlights of the past weekend.

This week my focus is on two Absa Premiership derbies, the Absa Currie Cup final and a Test victory for the Proteas over Pakistan.

Kingston Nkhata scored a controversial equaliser for Kaizer Chiefs in their draw with Orlando Pirates, while Charl McLeod stole the show with two tries for the Sharks at Newlands.

Clinton Larsen left Durban with three points yesterday - his first victory as head coach of Maritzburg United.

Graeme Smith made 234 for South Africa in a win that secured the Proteas a share of the series in the UAE.

Andile Jali and Siphiwe Tshabalala clash in the fierce derby in Soweto at the weekend. Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates drew the match 1-1 at the FNB Stadium.

Graeme Smith celebrates his 27th Test century in the second and final Test match against Pakistan in Dubai. The two-match series ended level.

Marc van Heerden defends as Amazulu suffer a 2-0 derby defeat at the hands of Maritzburg United. Van Heerden scored an own goal at the Moses Mabhida Stadium yesterday.

The Sharks celebrate their emphatic Absa Currie Cup final victory over Western Province. The Sharks won 33-19 in Cape Town on Saturday.
