Palace down Supersport United
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
Cape Town - The match was over before half time at Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening as English Premier League side Crystal Palace raced to a 4-0 lead against SuperSport United in the first semi-final of the Cape Town Cup.
Some sloppy SuperSport defending had given Palace their four-goal cushion inside 32 minutes and that is how the score would remain.
Gordon Igesund's charges were a much improved outfit in the second half, but by then the damage had been done through goals from Mile Jedinak, Lee Chung-Yong, Jordon Mutch and Frazier Campbell.
The second semi-final was due to take place late on Friday evening with Ajax Cape Town taking on Portugal's Sporting Lisbon.
The final and third/fourth place play-off will be played on Sunday.
