One-on-one with Comrades legend Bruce Fordyce
Updated | By Diane Macpherson
Bruce Fordyce - who has won the Comrades Marathon on a record nine occasions and has completed the epic race 30 times - won't be running this year.
The 88th edition of the Comrades takes place on Sunday from 05h30.
Fordyce says he's currently nursing an injury.
However he's told Sportswave the injury is not the reason for missing Comrades 2013. (listen below)
Fordyce has very different views on the men's and women's races.
He says picking a male winner is very difficult, while the ladies' event looks more predictable. (listen below)
Fordyce won the last of his nine Comrades Marathon titles back in 1990. He is now 57 years old.
