No drastic changes for Proteas after England defeat
Updated | By Myron Naicker
The Proteas were undone by a clinical England outfit in the opening game of the World Cup.
England rose to the occasion in front of a packed Oval Stadium against a Proteas outfit who enjoyed patches of good moments and nothing more.
In dissecting their 104-run loss, middle-order batsman, Rassie van der Dussen said the team was disappointed by the outcome but the margin of defeat was not a true reflection of the game.
“We were at 70 percent and that is not where you want to be, but again it is the start of a long competition and you want an upward curve in terms of your performance," said Van Der Dussen.

Only ten caps into his ODI career, Van Der Dussen who scored 50 of 61 balls on Thursday said the Proteas couldn’t be too harsh on themselves.
“I think it looks a lot worse than it is, we lost too many wickets along the way. It is not a fair reflection but a loss is a loss.”
Ottis Gibson’s side are back in action this Sunday against Bangladesh at the Oval.
They will have two training sessions to prepare themselves for a match they must win before traveling to Southampton to play India on 5 June.

“It will be a situation of topping up on bowling and batting skills, no drastic changes.”
“We were not at our best and we know that if we are at our best then we can beat any side,” he added Van der Dussen.
