Nenzani, who has been under mounting pressure to release the report on suspended CEO Thabang Moroe, has been at the helm of the national federation since 2013.

The board have been accused of dragging their feet on the report surrounding the suspension of Moroe. The forensic report was concluded in June with final decision by Nenzani and his board still to be divulged.

In a statement from CSA on Monday they thanked Nenzani for his service.

"Mr. Nenzani has provided valuable leadership, insight, assistance and direction in advancing the game of cricket with a focus on achieving transformation and access for the majority of the South African population," the statement said.

"On behalf of Cricket South Africa’s Members’ Council and the Board of Directors we thank Mr. Nenzani for his contributions to Cricket South Africa and for being a loyal servant to the game of cricket. We wish him well in his future endeavours and we are sure that he will continue to contribute to the game of cricket."

Nenzani was due to step down from his role as President of the federation on September 5. The same date that they will appoint a new president at the annual general meeting.

Nenzani has confirmed that he will avail himself to a Press Conference following the successful conclusion of the CSA AGM.
