Nasreddine Nabi announced as Chiefs’ new head coach

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday announced the arrival of their new Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Nabi left Moroccan club AS FAR this week after losing in the final of the Throne Cup to Josep Zinnbauer’s Raja Casablanca.
The announcement comes a week after Chiefs sacked Cavin Johnson following a poor 2023/2024 season.
The Phefeni Boys finished in tenth position in the 2023/24 season, its lowest position yet.
The 58-year-old Nabi will be tasked with winning the club’s first trophy in nine seasons and ending the longest drought in the club’s illustrious history.
He won two league titles at AS FAR and also led them to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2022-23, where they lost to Algerian side USM Alger on away goals.
Nabi joins the Kaizer Chiefs players on their pre-season tour of Türkiye in preparation for the upcoming 2024-25 Premier Soccer League season.
Players and members of the technical team will spend almost three weeks in the country that straddles both Europe and Asia, where they are expected to train and play friendly matches against some top Turkish opposition.
We are delighted to welcome Coach Nasreddine Nabi to the Kaizer Chiefs family. We are happy to have you with us, Coach.
