Cycling

Daryl Impey has ended the Tour de France in 74th spot.
Impey finished two hours 26 minutes and 37 seconds behind champion Chris Froome.
Impey had earlier lead the Tour for two stages.
Froome won by four minutes and 20 seconds.
Colombian cyclist, Alexander Quintana Rojas, was second overall.

Golf

Phil Mickelson has been crowned champion at Muirfield.
It is his first Open Championship crown and his fifth major title.
Mickelson fired a closing 66 in Scotland yesterday.
Henrik Stenson was second.
He ended three shots adrift of the American.
Charl Schwartzel was the best of the South African golfers at Muirfield.
Schwartzel secured a share of 15th spot.
He finished nine strokes off the pace.
Richard Sterne trailed by ten shots.
That was good enough to tie for 21st in Scotland yesterday.
Tiger Woods had to settle for a share of sixth spot.
He ended five strokes behind champion Mickelson.
Woods remains world number one..while Mickelson is up to second in the rankings.
Louis Oosthuizen is ranked 12th and Charl Schwartzel 13th.
They are the best of the South Africans.
Ernie Els is 15th in the world.

Cricket

England have won the second of five Tests against Australia.
England now lead the Ashes series 2-0.
They hammered the Aussies by 347 runs at Lords yesterday.
Australia, chasing a victory target of 583, were all out for 235 in their second innings.
Graeme Swann took four for 78, while Usman Khawaja top scored for Australia with 54.
Joe Root and Ian Bell had earlier batted superbly for England.
Root made 180, while Bell added 74 to his first innings effort of 109.
The third Test in Manchester will start on the first of next month.

Pakistan are two-one up in their five-match one-day international series against West Indies.
Pakistan won the fourth ODI by six wickets last night.
Misbah-ul-Haq hit an unbeaten 53 for the tourists, while Marlon Samuels made 106 not out for West Indies.
Pakistan won courtesy of the Duckworth-Lewis method.
The third ODI ended in a tie.

The Proteas will play again tomorrow.
That is when they will face Sri Lanka in the second of five ODIs.
Sri Lanka crushed South Africa by 180 runs in the opening ODI in Colombo on Saturday.

Rugby

Craig Joubert will referee the Vodacom SupeRugby semi-final between the Bulls and Brumbies this weekend.
The Bulls will host the Brumbies in Pretoria with kickoff scheduled for 17h05 on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Walsh will handle the semi-final involving the Chiefs and the Crusaders in Hamilton.

College Rovers are again the Fidelity Security Moor Cup champions.
Rovers secured the title with a 62-20 hammering of Varsity College.

Soccer

Kaizer Chiefs remain the Gauteng Cup champions.
Siphiwe Tshabalala and Knowledge Musona both scored in their 4-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic yesterday.
Chiefs will play their opening Absa Premiership match on the 27th of next month.
That is when they will meet Moroka Swallows at FNB Stadium.
Orlando Pirates will play their next CAF Champions League fixture on 4 August.
Al-Ahly will host the Buccaneers in Cairo.
AC Leopards held Pirates to a goalless draw in Soweto over the past weekend.

Motorsport

Marc Marquez now tops the MotoGP standings.
This after winning the United States MotoGP at Laguna Seca on Sunday.
Marquez is 16 points clear of Dani Pedrosa.
