The Castle Rugby Championship heads into match day three this weekend. The Boks have a tough assignment against Australia. The Wallabies are without their skipper James Horwill.

Bok coach Heyneke Meyer says “they know what to expect against their old rivals.” The match is scheduled to start 12h05 in Brisbane. South Africa are at the summit on 9 points.

The All Blacks will play host to Argentina in the other Championship clash. Veteran flyhalf, Dan Carter, is back in the mix after recovering from injury. Kickoff will be at 09h35 on Saturday morning in Hamilton.

The Sharks have a tough assignment away from home in the Absa Currie Cup. They will meet Western Province. The action gets underway at 19h10 on Saturday evening at Newlands. Meanwhile, former Golden Lions coach, John Mitchell, has been appointed coach of UKZN Impi.

Soccer

Bafana Bafana striker, Tokelo Rantie, says “he feels the weight of expectation to produce the goods,” when South Africa take on Botswana in  a must-win World Cup qualifier in Durban. Bafana are second in their group. Kickoff will be at 15h30 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Cricket

Elton Chigumbura will resume on 40 not out on day three of the first Test between Zimbabwe and Pakistan in Harare. Zimbabwe reached 281 for 7 in their first innings at stumps on day two.

Tennis

The last Grand Slam of the year continues in New York. There are big dates for Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals. Murray will be up against Stanislas Warinka and Djokovic will meet Mikhail Youzhny.
