Leg surgery for Steyn
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Frans Steyn and Craig Burden will both return early to Durban.
Steyn has a leg injury and Burden a problem with his neck.
Steyn needed surgery and is likely to be out of action for around three months.
The Mercury newspaper reports that Steyn is likely to undergo a second operation later this week.
The Sharks have summoned Monde Hadebe as a replacement for hooker Burden.
A replacement for Steyn has not yet been named and this may indicate that JP Pietersen will play at centre against the Reds.
The Sharks have a Vodacom Super Rugby date with the Reds in Brisbane this coming Friday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 11h40 in the morning - South African time.
The Sharks are ninth in the combined Super Rugby standings, while the Reds are fourth.
