Lambie on the comeback trail
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
Cell C Sharks flyhalf Pat Lambie will slowly be reintroduced to the team's training sessions over the coming weeks.
The Sharks Super Rugby captain has been out of order since the Springboks first June Test match against Ireland. The pivot was knocked-out cold and has been struggling with concussion symptoms since the incident.
But news from the Sharks camp is that Lambie has been working out in the gym and will gradually join the team in field training in the coming weeks. It's good news for both the Sharks and the Springboks - but it remains to be seen where and when Lambie will return to action.
The Sharks also expect eighthman Dan du Preez to be back in action in the next four weeks. He has been working through a groin injury.
Meanwhile Tera Mtembu was a casualty in last Friday's 40-21 win over Boland. He suffered yet another knee injury and was due to go for scans on his knee early this week. Scrumhalf Michael Claassens is also nursing a knee injury and both players won't be considered for selection this week.
It's seems likely that Jean Deysel will move into the starting XV for this Saturday's home clash against the Bulls.
That's a 18h10 kickoff on Saturday evening at Growthpoint Kings Park.
The Sharks sit top of the Currie Cup log with a full house of 15 points after three matches. The Cheetahs trail by a point while the Bulls are 5 points behind the Durban outfit.
